Gabro by Dilone 660 External Oil Cooler Kit - DL-OCL-660

Oil cooler kit for the RS660 developed by Gabro/Dilone (the manufacturer of the RS660 billet stacks and rear sprocket hub sold elsewhere on this site).

This kit can drop the oil temperature from 150-160C peaks in hot track days to 110-120C max, moreover the coolant system, unloaded by the oil heat exchanger thermal load, works better and water temperature never exceed 90C as well.

Oil life-span is greatly increased and both motor reliability and durability are improved. Oil system also takes 400cc more oil when the radiator is fitted (2.3lt to 2.7lt total).

Pistons life mostly depends on cooling coming from the oil jets underneath, a cooler oil works better in bearing shells as well, allowing to use thinner oil (i use 5w40 instead of 10w50 in my racebike after fitting the radiator) and run thighter clearances at bearing. Cams and buckets will not show overheating marks anymore too.


Performances are also improved: better hps comes when coolant runs at about 85-88C, while ECU starts limiting power derating the ignition advance when coolant is above the 100C mark.

This kit uses the 82960R OEM oil filter (an 82960R filter is included in the kit). The oil filter plate also has a provision for optional temperature/pressure sensor installation.
The kit has all the hardware needed for a complete installation, including a coolant thermostat eliminator plate and hoses lockwiring guards. Hoses are also a premium product, made from the same Italian company that supplies Ducati and MV Agusta OEM.

*Please note: This kit places HOT/COLD connection both on radiator left side, allowing fitment with the widest range of aftermarket exhausts. If hoses are routed One Left side and one RH side, then only SC Project brand exhausts can be used. This does not fit it is the Spark, it's cyl1 header collides with the larger 82960R oil filter).

***Please note: This part is not compatible with street bodywork. This part is not compatible with track bodywork either. Expect to have to enlarge the chin opening when fitting this kit with aftermarket track bodywork. Check hoses for rubbing inside the bellypan as well, they may need careful positioning to avoid rubbing, or a protection rubber sleeve.
