Gabro Racing F255 EPROM - VA-F255
This chip optimes fuel and ignition mapping for bikes that have had standard intake and 2 into 2 full system exhaust. The first Gen Mille/Tuono V2 (AKA V990) bikes ran admirably well in bone stock form but would suffer from hypersensitive throttle response and be snatchy on throttle application once standard bolt on mods were performed (air filter/airbox, slip-on or full system). This chip optimizes fuel and ignition settings for those bolt-on mods and smoothes out throttle response, giving a smoother torque curve, and increasing peak horsepower by as much as 4hp (your result may vary).
This Chip has two available maps. One is high power and one is smoothed power. The chip does this by making use of Pin 16 on the ECU indicated in red in this diagram and is explained in greater detail in this post on www.apriliaforum.com. By unplugging or plugging-in the wire at pin 16 you can access the first map or the second map.
This is the eprom recommended for the models shown in the complete fitment list at the bottom of this page when a 2 into 2 aftermarket exhaust (any kind/any maker) has been installed and there is an aftermarket filter or airbox lid.
This eprom is not suitable for bikes that have internal engine work done. Internal engine work means you have degreed the camshafts, ported the heads, or removed the cylinder heads for performance work (From our experience this is less than .01% of all bikes we have seen since 2002).
